About the Role

Ogilvy Health is seeking a talentedMidweight Designer with a specialisation in Data Design to join our dynamic Creative Team. This is a unique opportunity to work across our entire client portfolio, from pharmaceutical giants to innovative health tech startups, translating intricate health and scientific data into engaging and accessible visual experiences. You\’ll be instrumental in shaping how we communicate critical information, making a real difference in healthcare.
We offer a hybrid work environment that balances collaboration with independent work. Join us in the office every Tuesday and Wednesday for team meetings, agency updates, brainstorming, and client interactions. We also dedicate the third Friday of each month to in-person collaboration and team building.
What You’ll Do
- Transform Data into Design:Lead the visual translation of complex scientific, medical, and market data into clear, compelling, and aesthetically pleasing infographics, charts, diagrams, presentations, and interactive experiences.
- Concept & Create:Work closely with strategists, medical writers, art directors, and account teams to conceptualise and develop innovative visual solutions for diverse healthcare campaigns and projects.
- Visual Storytelling:Develop visual narratives that simplify complex information, making it digestible and memorable for various audiences, from healthcare professionals to patients and the public.
- Brand Guardianship:Ensure all data visualisations align with client brand guidelines and Ogilvy\’s high creative standards, maintaining consistency and quality across all outputs.
- Tool Proficiency:Utilise a range of design software (Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and potentially After Effects/Figma for motion/interactive elements) to bring your designs to life.
- Research & Innovation:Stay abreast of the latest trends in data visualisation, design, and healthcare communications, bringing fresh ideas and innovative approaches to the team.
- Collaborate & Present:Actively participate in brainstorming sessions, present your design concepts internally and to clients, and iterate based on feedback.
What You\’ll Need
- Experience: Professional design experience, with a strong portfolio demonstrating a clear specialisation and passion for data visualisation and information design. Experience within a creative agency, healthcare, or a data-heavy industry is highly advantageous.
- Visual Acumen:An exceptional eye for detail, typography, colour, and layout, with a proven ability to create clean, modern, and effective visual communications.
- Technical Proficiency:Expert-level command of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop are essential). Familiarity with motion graphics (After Effects) or interactive design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) is a plus.
- Conceptual Thinking:Ability to understand complex briefs, distil key information, and develop creative concepts that effectively communicate the message.
- Problem-Solving:A natural curiosity and ability to approach data challenges with a creative and analytical mindset.
- Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating design choices and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Adaptability:Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work efficiently under pressure, and adapt to evolving client needs and deadlines.
- Passion for Health:A genuine interest in the healthcare sector and a desire to contribute to meaningful communications that impact health outcomes.
