ROLE

As Social Intelligence Team Lead, you are responsible for the day to day running of the social intelligence capability - overseeing a team of analysts while ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, insight-driven work across all projects. You will collaborate closely with the Strategy Operations Manager and Strategy Partner: Social & Intelligence. You balance team leadership with hands-on expertise, contributing directly to key projects while elevating the standard of work across the team. You play a central role in shaping how social and digital intelligence informs strategy, creativity, and business decisions for major global brands. You also oversee the effective use and evolution of the team’s world-class intelligence tool-stack, ensuring smooth operations and strong partnerships with platform providers. This role is suited to someone who combines strong analytical thinking with a passion for developing people, improving ways of working, and driving excellence in output.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of social intelligence analysts
  • Set clear expectations, workflows, and priorities across projects
  • Provide regular feedback and coaching to support individual growth
  • Support a collaborative, curious, and high-performing team culture
  • Ensure consistent quality across all social intelligence outputs
  • Review and refine key deliverables to maintain high standards
  • Lead the delivery of complex or high-impact projects when needed
  • Translate data into clear, actionable insights and compelling narratives
  • Design and implement social and digital intelligence approaches tailored to client needs
  • Analyse data from a range of tools (e.g., social listening, audience, search, and competitive platforms)
  • Support strategic planning with insight-led recommendations
  • Represent the intelligence function in client meetings, workshops, and pitches
  • Oversee the team’s intelligence tool-stack and ensure effective usage
  • Act as a point of contact for platform partners
  • Support troubleshooting and resolve data or tooling issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, workflows, and capabilities
  • Contribute to new business development, including scoping and proposals
  • Identify opportunities to enhance methodologies, products, or services
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and bring new thinking into the team

PROFILE

  • 6-10+ years of experience in digital, social intelligence, or search data analytics, insights, or strategy roles.
  • Proven experience managing or mentoring analysts or small teams
  • Strong ability to set standards, review work, and ensure quality at scale
  • Experience owning workflows, processes, or capability areas
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on delivery with team leadership responsibilities
  • Deep understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing digital/social intelligence approaches.
  • Advanced proficiency in intelligence and monitoring platforms.
  • Expert knowledge of the social media landscape, internet culture, and platform-specific trends.
  • Proven ability to transform complex datasets into meaningful, strategic insights.
  • Excellent reporting and storytelling skills - visually and verbally.
  • Strong interpersonal and client communication skills; confident in presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Passion for innovation, digital trends, and continuous improvement.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in an integrated team environment.

MUST-HAVES

  • Experience leading or coaching others in social intelligence or analytics roles
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality work while managing multiple projects/people
  • Strong problem-solving skills across both insight generation and tooling/platform challenges
  • Experience conducting always-on social listening and campaign-based insights generation.
  • Strong cultural trend tracking capabilities for real-time and strategic planning use.
  • Solid understanding of performance metrics across both paid and organic social.
  • Ability to conceptualize and implement custom methodologies.
  • Advanced reporting and data visualization skills.
