Ogilvy, part of WPP, was founded in 1948 by David Ogilvy. David created a culture that deeply respects and cares about its people and clients. Our mission is to inspire people and brands to make an impact and we are committed to attracting, growing, and retaining the best talent in the industry. Ogilvy Health UK is made up of healthcare communication specialists across the disciplines of medical education and communications; brain sciences; brand promotion; digital and social; strategic planning; public relations; and creative/design. We believe we are like no other: we blaze new trails; we encourage a culture of creativity and innovation; we challenge, and we change; and we recognise and reward our team.

Ogilvy Health is seeking a Creative Director with a strong art direction background to lead creative work on key accounts within our healthcare portfolio. This individual will balance hands-on creative leadership with team development, ensuring both exceptional work and a thriving creative culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and drive creative direction across key accounts, ensuring big, effective ideas that meet client and patient/HCP needs.
  • Bring strong conceptual thinking to every brief—pushing beyond the expected to deliver work that's both strategically sound and creatively distinctive.
  • Maintain hands-on involvement in art direction, from concept through execution, across digital, print, and campaign work.

Team Development

  • Mentor and grow art directors, designers, and copywriters on the team.
  • Provide constructive feedback and creative direction that elevates the work and the people making it.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Client Service to align creative solutions with business objectives and timelines.
  • Work hand-in-hand with Strategy to ensure ideas are rooted in insight and built to perform.
  • Present and defend creative concepts confidently to clients and internal stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years in advertising/agency creative roles, with proven experience as an Art Director progressing into creative leadership.
  • Healthcare/pharma experience preferred (HCP and/or DTC).
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual and visual storytelling ability.
  • Experience managing and developing junior creative talent.
  • Excellent collaborator who thrives in cross-functional, client-facing environments.
  • Comfortable navigating regulatory/compliance considerations inherent to healthcare marketing.
