We are looking for an experienced Senior Client Accountant to join our Accounting Services team in Jersey, playing a key role in managing and maintaining the day to day accounting functions of a varied client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and work to strengthen relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Review the work of bookkeepers and produce annual financial statements and management accounts for your allocated portfolio.
- Manage daily accounting activities for a range of Ogier Global clients.
- Support audit preparation and assist with the management of audits.
- Monitor and track the progress of financial information preparation.
- Prepare accurate routine month end and quarter end management accounts.
- Identify opportunities for improvements in processes and service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and controls.
- Support, mentor, and guide junior members of the team.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Qualified or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong numerical and analytical ability and a proactive approach.
- Proven experience in client accounting or accounts preparation, with a diligent and organised working style.
- Client-facing experience is required, and knowledge of Real Estate, Private Wealth, or Corporate accounting environments is advantageous.
- Experience with Caseware or Viewpoint is beneficial but not essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications is essential.
- Strong communication, time management, and prioritisation skills are key to success in this role.
