Ogier Global, the fast growing corporate, fund, and fiduciary services arm of international and offshore professional services firm, Ogier, is seeking a highly strategic, hands‐on, and commercially astute Director of Business Development & Marketing (BD&M) to build and scale the BD&M operating model across jurisdictions.
This global role blends strategic leadership with practical delivery to develop BD&M strategy, operational framework, processes, systems, and structures. With 320 employees across Ogier Global, this pivotal role reports to Ogier's CBDMO. The Director will be responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth; deepening client relationships; delivering strategic and operational initiatives; strengthening Ogier Global's brand in priority markets; and developing and leading a high‐performing BD&M team.
The Director will work in close cross-service line collaboration, reflecting Ogier Global's connection to the wider business and the importance of joint market approaches and cross-referrals with the law firm.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy
- Co-develop Ogier Global's BD&M strategy with the CBDMO, aligning with commercial priorities, business-wide objectives, and the evolving needs of the business.
- Advise directors and other key stakeholders on targeting, relationship management, and growth opportunities.
- Build and continually refine sector, product/service, and asset class strategies.
- Shape jurisdiction-specific go-to-market plans including mapping offerings by jurisdiction, supporting expansion into new markets, ensuring that marketing and pitch materials reflect market opportunities, regulatory requirements, and current capabilities.
- Operational Excellence
- Build and enhance a BD&M operating framework including processes, platforms, playbooks, templates, and service levels, driving efficiency, scalability, and measurable performance.
- Lead rapid delivery of operational priorities, particularly relating to RFP and pitch function, collateral development, template creation, targeting, CRM/data hygiene, and best practice implementation.
- Drive and implement process and system improvements, including standardised reporting tools, dashboards, and ROI metrics to provide clarity and tracking effectiveness across all BD&M operations.
- Act as a hands‐on leader, directly participating in operational tasks and improvements, balancing strategic planning with active delivery alongside the team.
- Brand Development
- Lead clarification and development of Ogier Global's brand hierarchy and USPs internally and externally, ensuring a coherent narrative across service propositions.
- Support ongoing improvement of brand positioning (visual identity, talent attraction, and digital/social campaigns) including in collaboration with HR targeted employer brand strategies to support recruitment in priority markets.
- Team Management & Development
- Initially manage and develop a small team of Ogier Global-focused BD&M specialists, while effectively leveraging resources within the broader BD&M team.
- Coach and develop talent; develop team skills, set goals and performance standards.
- Scale BD capability across the wider business (directors, client service teams, partners) through training on pitching, opportunity spotting, account planning, and value messaging.
- Client & Market Growth
- Collaborate with key client account and management leads to deepen relationships, optimise cross-sell, and drive revenue growth.
- Establish and optimise proposal and pitch strategies ensuring high-quality, client‐centric outputs.
- Leverage CRM and research tools to inform BD&M activities and foster adoption of best practices across the business.
- Drive pipeline management and forecasting, creating visibility by segment, jurisdiction, and service line, and improving win rates.
- Partner with Finance and service leads on pricing strategy, margin enhancement, and commercial governance.
- Digital & Data-Driven BD & Marketing
- Drive digital transformation of BD&M, ensuring optimal CRM use and data integrity.
- Integrate data‐driven reporting, dashboards, and ROI metrics into all business development and marketing operations.
- Lead digital demand generation initiatives including marketing automation, CRM driven segmentation, SEO/SEM campaigns, and content strategies aimed at fund managers, corporates and fiduciary clients.
- Ensure data governance (GDPR/DP laws) and consistent taxonomies for accounts, contacts, opportunities, and products.
- Implement and enhance standardised reporting, dashboards, and metrics for performance measurement across BD & Marketing.
- Collaboration
- Lead cross-group and cross-service line collaboration to support business planning, sector strategy, pricing, and knowledge sharing among core business units and legal service lines.
- Engage with senior leadership including partners, directors, HR, Finance and R&C to ensure common goals and buy‐in for BD&M strategy.
- Regulatory & Compliance Alignment
- Ensure BD&M activity aligns and is compliant with regulatory requirements across all relevant jurisdictions, including restrictions on fund marketing, fiduciary communications and corporate services promotion and work closely with R&C to validate marketing materials, ensure accurate service descriptions, and support cross‐border regulatory compliance.
- Uphold data privacy and information security standards across all BD & Marketing processes and platforms.
- Commerciality & Product Expertise
- Translate technical service offerings—including fund administration, regulatory services, corporate governance, fiduciary structures and compliance led processes—into compelling client value propositions.
- Deploy strong understanding of corporate administration, fund administration, governance, regulatory reporting and fiduciary structures to inform market messaging and growth strategy.
- 12+ years' senior BD&M leadership experience within corporate/fiduciary services, fund administration, or related professional services.
- Degree qualified.
- Demonstrated success in building, motivating, and leading high-performing teams.
- Experience managing offshore and/or multijurisdictional teams.
- Track record of delivering change initiatives as a hands‐on, "player/manager" leader.
- Collaborative approach with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder influencing skills.
- Expertise in coaching, pitching, RFPs, account management, CRM/data management, and client insight.
- Strong commercial orientation with cultural awareness, sensitivity, and multi‐jurisdictional experience.
- Ability to work in fast growth environments undergoing integration or transformation.
- Ability to travel as required.
