The Role
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation of the interior living and working spaces on board the vessel. This includes cabins, galley, mess rooms, and public areas. The steward supports galley operations, assists in food service, laundry duties, and ensures a high standard of hospitality and hygiene is upheld at all times in compliance with maritime safety and sanitation standards
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain crew and guest cabins, bathrooms, and common areas.
- Assist in the preparation, serving, and clearing of meals in the galley or mess.
- Perform daily housekeeping duties including laundry, linen changes, and trash disposal.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning and hospitality supplies.
- Adhere to safety, hygiene, and infection control procedures at all times.
- Assist with inventory checks, stock rotation, and proper storage of food and cleaning products.
- Support the galley team in dishwashing, galley cleaning, and basic food prep as needed.
- Respond promptly and professionally to crew.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisors.
- Budgeting & Record-Keeping
- Manage the food budget and avoid unnecessary waste.

- Food Hygiene/Food Safety Certificate (Level 2 or higher)
