Ogenus Offshore is a manpower company based in the UK and Greece, providing skilled personnel to the energy sector. We support our clients with workforce solutions for offshore and onshore projects worldwide. This position is being offered on behalf of one of our trusted clients.
The Role
Coordinate work and manpower on board for the assigned shift in compliance with Project specification, in order to ensure efficient performance and respecting HSE and Quality procedures and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Offshore Construction Manager with regard to interdisciplinary coordination of all works on board.
- Supervise the team of foremen and supervisors, with regard to the various disciplines/categories of construction and assembly work, in order to comply with the quality and safety standard.
- Coordinate the construction activities during the shift and optimise all production phases.
- Ensure that the Offshore Construction Manager is kept fully informed of potential problems and construction status.
- Liaise with Chief Mate, 2nd Engineer and Vessel Equipment Engineer in order to ensure preventive maintenance and construction activities.
- Liaise with subcontractors' supervisors to optimize production.
- Solve matters related to coordination, priority and interface between the different disciplines in order to meet the scopes of the project.
- Ensure that the Permit-to-Work system for construction crew is adhered to and ensure that the daily Toolbox Talks and JSA, if required, are carried out according to the procedures.
- Motivate all construction crew/subcontractors with regards to health, safety and environment awareness.
- Ensure the compliance with the standards dictated by Saipem QHSE policies and safety procedures, in order to perform the activities in a safe manner.
- Report incidents and near-miss events.
- Manage the Crane operations, including coordination with the Chief Mate for main crane movements on board, ROV launching and underwater operations.
- Assist marine operations if required.
- Provide a construction report at the end of each shift.
- Assist the Vessel Field Engineer in the follow up of project equipment and consumable, operation and monitoring of the stinger and JLT.
- Ensure the rigging gear used is within date and properly marked.
- Report to the Offshore Construction Manager.
What We’re Looking For
- 4 years of experience in the role of 1st assistant.
- Technical Diploma or Civil, mechanical, electrical or naval engineering background required.
- Fluent in English.
- European nationalities due to visa requirements preferred.
- 6-7 years of prior experience in the oil & gas industry required.
- Engineering background preferred.
