The Role
Responsible for preparing and serving meals during the night shift, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the galley and mess areas, and supporting general catering operations onboard. The role also includes minor support tasks such as routine cleaning of equipment and assisting in stores management during night hours.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Preparation
- Prepare and serve hot and cold meals for night-shift crew.
- Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and portion standards.
- Bake fresh goods (bread, pastries) if required.
Cleaning & Hygiene:
- Maintain cleanliness of the galley and dining areas overnight.
- Wash dishes, clean cooking equipment, worktops, and storage areas.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP, etc.).
- Monitor and restock food, beverages, and kitchen supplies.
- Assist with receiving and storing provisions when needed.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Participate in safety drills and toolbox talks when required.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and disposal
