The Autism Assessment Team is an MDT service comprising Administrators, Assistant Practitioners, Clinical Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists. The service provides autism assessments for children and young people aged up to 19 years across the Hambleton & Richmondshire and Harrogate districts.

The Autism Assessment Team is part of wider Specialist Children\’s Services (SCS), which offers specialist health services for children aged 0-19 with physical, communication, learning, or developmental difficulties or disabilities affecting their health and well-being. SCS includes administration, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, clinical psychology, specialist nurses, the autism assessment service, and community paediatricians. It covers two key localities: Hambleton and Richmondshire, and Harrogate and Rural District.

This role involves providing efficient and confidential administrative support to the Autism Assessment Team within the Specialist Children\’s Services for the Hambleton, Richmondshire, and Harrogate localities.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide administration services for outpatient bookings and patient pathway management.
  • Prioritize workload to ensure referrals are registered and appointments are booked in line with Trust waiting time standards and Patient Access Policy, consulting the Manager as needed.
  • Follow defined procedures to ensure electronic and paper information is available to clinicians for outpatient clinics.
  • Accurately record information into systems and maintain patient appointment data submitted to the Trust.
