Electronics Repair Technician - Consoles & Controllers

Electronics Repair Technician - Consoles & Controllers

Full-Time On-site
O

We're looking for a technician who takes pride in the work. You don't need to be top-tier. You need to be good with your hands, careful, and the kind of person who wants a repair to look as clean inside as it does from the outside.

You'll work on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles and controllers every day.

If you've repaired phones, laptops or other electronics, you already have the core skills. We'll bring you up to speed on the rest.

If you play games, that's a big plus.

Pay: Β£14 - Β£15 per hour, depending on experience. More for strong skills.

Hours: Part-time to start, usually 3 weekday shifts a week. For the right person this grows to more days.

Probation: 3 months. It can be extended by up to 3 more months, so 6 months at most.

Breaks: Lunch break is unpaid.

Location: On-site at our workshop: Unit 9, Hatcham Road, London SE15 1TR, near Queens Road Peckham and South Bermondsey stations.

Day to day

  • Log in and pick up your next job. Each one tells you what the repair is.
  • Do the repair, test it, and photograph your finished work.
  • Keep your bench organised and your work consistent from one job to the next.
  • Flag anything that doesn't look right, rather than guessing.

You'll need to be able to

  • Replace analogue sticks on consoles and controllers.
  • Solder neatly and cleanly.
  • Wire and solder for modifications.
  • Replace HDMI ports.
  • Repaste with liquid metal and thermal paste.

What we're looking for

  • Care and pride in your work. This matters most to us.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Reliable, punctual and self-motivated.
  • Clear written English for job notes.
  • The right to work in the UK.

A big plus

  • You can diagnose faults: you work out what's wrong, not just swap the part.
  • Board-level work, microsoldering or reballing.
  • You've worked as a phone, laptop or console repair technician, or you come from an electronics background.
  • You play games.

How hiring works

  1. We read every application ourselves.
  2. If it looks like a fit, we'll call you for a short chat.
  3. Then a practical assessment at the workshop: 1 to 2 hours at the bench, showing us what you can do.
  4. We decide quickly.
