Successful candidates may be based in any of our office locations – Cardiff, Glasgow, or London. We especially welcome applicants from Cardiff and Glasgow. This role follows our hybrid working policy, requiring a minimum of 20% office attendance (typically one day per week).
At an important moment for Britain’s energy markets, Ofgem is working to simplify and modernise the rules that underpin the system. We’re recruiting a Senior Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Manager to support effective engagement and help build understanding of a complex and significant programme of reform. Ofgem is Great Britain’s independent energy regulator. We play a central role in the transition to Net Zero while ensuring energy consumers are protected, with particular focus on those in vulnerable circumstances.
This six‑month fixed‑term role sits within our Industry Rules, Market Oversight & Enforcement Directorate. You will contribute to a comprehensive stakeholder engagement plan that will shape how industry rules are managed, making them more accessible, responsive and easier to navigate. You will work closely with colleagues across the programme at a key point for both Ofgem and the wider sector. This role offers the opportunity to support engagement for a complex, technical reform programme, well suited to someone experienced in explaining detailed regulatory or policy issues in clear and accessible ways.
We are looking for someone with substantial experience delivering professional engagement and communications across a range of channels, with strong written skills and the ability to build constructive relationships. You will be comfortable coordinating multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and working with a degree of autonomy in a changing environment. Our purpose is to reform energy code governance, creating a simpler and more adaptable framework that supports innovation, reduces administrative burden and enables market participants to bring products to consumers more efficiently. Alongside your salary of £47,895, OFGEM contributes £13,875 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
