At the heart of the energy market, data tells the story of the challenges consumers face and how Ofgem fights to protect them. We\’re looking for a Senior Data Modeller to join our Markets Data Office in London, Glasgow or Cardiff and lead on shaping the data frameworks that underpin key regulatory decisions, strengthening our ability to respond to issues that affect millions of households.Ofgem is Great Britain\’s independent energy regulator at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers, especially vulnerable people.Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain the Markets strategic data model (conceptual) to provide a high-level view of data domains, entities and relationships, and related logical data models with detailed attributes, data relationships, and normalization rules, ensuring alignment with business rules and objectives.Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into structured data model artifacts that meet organisational needs.Ensure conceptual and logical data models are reusable, scalable and adaptable to evolving business demands.Partner with business stakeholders, SMEs and enterprise data architects to validate data models and incorporate feedback.Collaborate with technology colleagues on model implementation in the data ecosystem housing Markets data.Support data services created and delivered by the Markets Data Office to help Markets data users do data better.Person Specification Strong experience in developing conceptual data models, defining data domains, entities and relationships (lead criteria).Strong experience translating business user needs into structured data model artifacts (lead criteria).Ability to achieve and maintain SC clearance (lead criteria).Demonstrable experience using data modelling tools and industry‐standard techniques to capture and document data artefacts.Demonstrable experience working successfully in cross‐functional teams and collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders.Ability to communicate in technical detail on topics of data lineage, data usage and data structures.Track record of working within a cloud‐based technology landscape.Experience integrating complex, cross‐organisation processes and data models, ideally within a highly regulated environment.Behaviours Seeing the Big PictureChanging and ImprovingWorking TogetherDelivering at PaceBenefits Alongside a base salary of £47,895, Ofgem contributes £13,875 towards the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
