Successful candidates may be based in any of our office locations – Cardiff, Glasgow, or London, we are especially welcoming applications from people based in Cardiff and Glasgow. Hybrid working – on average, currently one day per week in the office, or approximately 20% of the month.

At the forefront of digital transformation in energy regulation, we’re looking for a Project Support Officer to join us and support the delivery of high-impact digital projects that underpin the UK’s transition to a smarter, cleaner and more resilient energy system. This is a six-month fixed-term contract with the opportunity to play a vital role in some of our most innovative digital portfolios. Whether it’s supporting work in AI, data or digital platforms like Salesforce, this role offers exposure to cutting-edge initiatives that will shape the energy system of the future. You’ll gain experience working across multidisciplinary project teams, while contributing to the smooth, efficient operation of our digital delivery efforts.

You’ll be part of a collaborative and high-performing team, working closely with delivery managers and stakeholders to ensure we stay on track to achieve real-world outcomes. This role is fast-paced and diverse, offering insight into a broad range of delivery activities while building your skills in digital transformation and project co-ordination.

We’re looking for someone with experience in digital project environments, who can confidently support plans, schedules, data collection and risk tracking across multiple workstreams. You’ll bring a proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a willingness to collaborate across teams to get the job done.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and scheduling - Help establish and maintain systems for effective planning and scheduling.
  • Monitoring and reporting - Assist in maintaining project controls and in producing project reports.
  • Admin - Manages project files using robust version control. Organises and supports key project meetings.
  • Stakeholder - Helps maintain the stakeholder log and escalates stakeholder engagement issues to Delivery Management, Portfolio Management or Relationship Management colleagues as needed.
  • Financial control - Helps monitor project spending and contributes information to the Business Case Analysts.
  • Risks and issues - Assist with and maintain risk and issue logs, escalating as appropriate.
  • Digital and Data - Collects and shares data in line with data standards. Uses data analytics and digital tools to compile and present information that aids in monitoring the progress of projects.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with the wider profession to ensure sharing of best practice and promote continuous improvement.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests as directed.

Key Outputs and Deliverables

  • Schedules: Coordinates and helps maintain project schedules, ensuring timelines are kept current and aligned with delivery milestones.
  • Risk and Issue Logs: Maintains and actively monitors risk and issue logs, ensuring timely escalation and mitigation actions.
  • Budget Trackers: Tracks project budgets and expenditure records.
  • Resource Plans: Maintains resource plans to document workforce and asset allocation across projects.
  • Performance Updates: Prepares and delivers regular performance updates to the Project Steering Group and Portfolio Governance forums.
