We are currently seeking to hire a Senior/Lead Naval Architect to join our team of experts in a dynamic and growing company that is driving the energy transition. This is a highly technical role in the organization in which the candidate will work across market sectors and departments as required.

What you will be doing:

  • Undertaking hydrodynamic analysis and simulations of marine operations as required.
  • Undertaking technical consultancy work as required.
  • Developing existing and new technical competencies in alignment with the business needs.
  • Performing day-to-day client management activities with existing clients through established relationships.
  • Supporting and undertaking tendering activities.
  • Partaking in activities to promote the business and develop new clients.
  • Managing assigned projects in terms of safety, quality, schedule, and resources.
  • Communicating resources need the office manager/director to deliver assigned projects to quality, cost, and schedule.
  • Communicating directly with the customer.
  • Undertaking project planning, invoicing, and cash collection activities.
  • Identifying personal and team’s training requirements to develop technical competence in accordance with the Company’s needs.
  • Supporting the training and development of engineers within the team.
  • Representing the interests of all Group companies to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in all business activities.
  • Complying with current revisions of all internal policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Following the requirements of the HSEQ management systems.

The role is based in any of the UK locations (London, Southampton, Exeter, Newcastle, Dundee). The incumbent will have the right to work and reside in the United Kingdom.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for a driven and solution-oriented professional with sound technical skills and good decision-making capabilities. The successful candidate will have good communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership ability, and be able to deal effectively with multiple issues and assignments simultaneously.

In addition, you will:

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline relevant to the role.
  • Have 7 years’ experience in the marine and/or energy industry.
  • Possess a high level of expertise in Orcaflex.
  • Have gained experience with cable installation and mooring analysis.
  • Be able to select and apply the latest standards, guidelines, methods, and techniques to analytical methods.
  • Present excellent computer literacy skills.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Possess attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.

Desirable:

  • Hold a master’s degree or equivalent in a technical subject relevant to the role.
  • Had work experience in a company that operates in a similar market to ABL.
  • Work experience with cable installation contractors.
