Our client, a prominent accounting firm based in central London, is seeking a talented professional to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to engage directly with clients, providing exceptional audit and account services while working alongside experienced partners in a supportive atmosphere.
About the Role:
This client-facing position offers an impressive balance of responsibilities, with approximately 80% of your time dedicated to audit tasks and 20% to accounts. You will have the chance to lead audits from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, while also preparing vital financial statements and tax computations.
Key Responsibilities:
Audit (80%):
- Lead and manage audits from planning to completion, ensuring adherence to all regulatory standards.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and design effective audit strategies.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and discuss key findings with clients and partners.
- Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships while providing proactive business advice.
Accounts (20%):
- Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and FRS 102.
- Review financial statements, working papers, and disclosures for precision and accuracy.
- Assist clients with various accounting queries and offer technical guidance.
- Liaise with HMRC and other regulatory bodies as necessary.
- Prepare corporation tax computations and returns for clients.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualified, with successful completion of the Advanced Auditing exam.
- Demonstrated strong audit experience within an accountancy practise.
- Proficiency in preparing financial statements and a solid understanding of UK GAAP and FRS 102.
- Experience with property clients is desirable but not essential.
- Exceptional communication and client management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Familiarity with CCH software, Caseware, myworkpaper (audit software), and Mercia is advantageous.
