We are looking for a senior leadership professional to take end‑to‑end ownership of onsite trading performance across all digital touchpoints, accountable for driving profitable growth for a leading UK footwear retailer. The role offers commercial influence, leading a high‑performing team, and making decisions that impact revenue, customer experience and brand performance.

  • Online Trading, Sales & Forecasting
    • Own and deliver online sales targets across all digital channels, re‑forecasting where required and clearly communicating risks and opportunities.
    • Manage forecasting across web channels and develop actionable trading plans.
    • Lead all online trading activity, ensuring promotional events, trade terms and business messaging are executed accurately.
    • Support peak trading periods and major commercial events with robust planning, scenario modelling and post‑event analysis.
    • Work closely with Buying, Merchandising, Marketing and Operations to align stock, messaging and execution.
  • Onsite Experience, UX & CX
    • Ensure the customer journey, UX and onsite merchandising are optimised to deliver commercial objectives without compromising brand integrity.
    • Own the onsite trading and content calendar, balancing newness, storytelling and performance.
    • Lead ongoing optimisation activity, including site walks, testing and performance‑led UX improvements.
    • Ensure our online presence accurately reflects business priorities across all brands and customer touchpoints.
  • Performance Reporting & Insight
    • Own and develop onsite trading and performance reporting across all web channels.
    • Use existing web tools and data to illustrate performance, actions taken and outcomes.
    • Translate insight into clear trading actions and feed back learnings to wider business and brand partners.
    • Maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency and commercial rigour in all reporting.
  • People Leadership & Team Development
    • Lead and manage a team of direct reports, setting clear expectations and accountability.
    • Develop capability within the team, encouraging ownership, structured thinking and continuous improvement.
    • Ensure the trading strategy is clearly broken down by channel and site to enable effective execution.
    • Foster a culture of contribution, resilience and shared accountability.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in online trading within a fast‑paced digital retail or ecommerce environment, with a proven track record of managing onsite performance across multiple web channels.
  • Demonstrated people‑management experience, including developing teams, setting clear expectations and taking ownership of performance outcomes.
  • Strong commercial and numerical capability, confident in managing complex forecasts and using data to drive trading decisions.
  • Experience in fashion retail, with a strong eye for detail and visual merchandising, and the ability to balance brand storytelling with commercial performance.
  • Clear understanding of how UX and CX optimisation directly impact conversion, revenue and overall trading results.
  • Advanced Excel skills, strong capability in Word and PowerPoint, and confidence using onsite analytics and web tools including a strong working knowledge of Google Analytics.
  • Experience with VM tools and basic HTML, alongside excellent organisation, communication and time‑management skills.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with Fredhopper / Attraqt or similar tools, ContentSquare, SAP Hybris and/or Shopify, and a working knowledge of product lifecycle and supply chain processes.
