Our client is one of the UK's leading Injection Moulding and Mould Tooling companies and, due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Injection Mould Toolmaker to join their modern and well-equipped toolroom based in Stevenage.

This is a hands-on role focused on the manufacture, maintenance, repair, and modification of high-precision injection mould tools within a collaborative and quality-driven environment.

The Role

Working within a modern toolroom equipped with Hurco machining centres, Sodick Wire Eroders, Sodick CNC Spark Eroders, and Jones & Shipman surface grinders, you will be responsible for supporting the full tooling lifecycle from manufacture through to repair and production readiness. You will also work alongside the in-house design and CAM teams using Pro Engineer and Powermill systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manufacture and fitting of new Injection Mould Tools
  • Maintenance, repair, and modification of Injection Mould Tools
  • Preparing new mould tools for production
  • Use of manual milling machines and lathes
  • Surface and cylindrical grinding
  • Use of manual and CNC spark eroders
  • Operation of CNC wire eroders
  • General toolmaking, fitting, milling, and grinding activities
  • Wiring and fault finding of hot runner systems
  • Use of hand tools including files, grinders, and hacksaws
  • Working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards within agreed timescales

Requirements

  • Proven experience within Injection Mould Toolmaking
  • Strong background in high-precision machining, fitting, and assembly
  • Experience repairing and modifying complex mould tools
  • Competent in manual milling, turning, grinding, EDM wire erosion, and spark erosion
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
  • CNC machining experience would be advantageous

Package

  • £30,000- £40,000 DOE
  • Monday to Friday, 41.5 hours per week
  • Overtime available
  • 23 days holiday plus bank holidays
