Refrigeration Engineer
Location: Bournemouth Area
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £51,996 per annum (inclusive of standby payment)

- Job Purpose
This is a key engineering role responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across multiple customer sites.
You will act as the first point of response for service and maintenance activities within your allocated locations, ensuring refrigeration and associated systems are maintained to the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance of refrigeration equipment at customer locations.
- Effectively service, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems and provide assistance with HVAC equipment containing refrigeration circuits.
- Prioritise maintenance and repair tasks to meet agreed response times and service level agreements.
- Identify non-repairable faults and promptly report findings to the Line Manager, including recommendations for suitable replacement solutions.
- Ensure all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are completed within agreed timescales.
- Accurately complete and maintain all technical, compliance, and service documentation in line with procedures.
- Participate in an out-of-hours standby rota, including responsibility for arranging and communicating cover requirements due to holidays or unforeseen circumstances.
- Support a 24/7 service provision through planned and extended working hours as required.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Essential
- NVQ / City & Guilds qualification in Refrigeration or a related discipline
- Refrigerant Handling qualification (City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate)
- Strong technical knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, air conditioning, and mechanical systems
Desirable
- BS7671 (IEE 16th or 17th Edition Wiring Regulations)
- Experience in commercial or supermarket environments
- Machine overhaul skills
- Hydrocarbon refrigerant training
- CO2 refrigerant training

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant industry experience
- Holds a full UK driving licence
