We're recruiting for an experienced Mobile Electrician to join a leading facilities maintenance provider delivering electrical services across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business with over 40 years of industry experience, offering long-term stability, ongoing professional development and the opportunity to work alongside an experienced team of directly employed engineers.
Unsociable Hours Requirement: This role includes a mandatory requirement to work one week of unsociable hours (6:00pm-2:00am) approximately once per month as part of the rota. These shifts are paid at an enhanced rate, equating to approximately £5,000 in additional annual earnings on top of the basic salary.
Job Purpose: To carry out specialist electrical installations, testing, inspections and fault diagnosis across commercial sites, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with current regulations, industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical installation works across commercial properties.
- Complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and periodic emergency lighting inspections.
- Diagnose and rectify faults across a range of commercial electrical systems.
- Work on commercial fire alarm systems, DALI lighting control systems and BMS control wiring.
- Test, inspect and certify electrical installations and minor works in accordance with NIC/EIC Approved Contractor standards and BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, servicing and repairs.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues.
- Plan and manage workloads effectively to meet customer expectations.
- Complete accurate site reports, task sheets, site diaries and photographic records, making recommendations for remedial works where required.
Qualifications:
- Full Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Am2 (Desirable).
- 2391 (Desirable).
- BS7671 Electrical Safety Certificate.
- Proven experience carrying out electrical installations within commercial properties.
- Strong knowledge of testing, inspection and certification procedures.
- Experience diagnosing and rectifying faults across commercial electrical systems.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary & Benefits:
- £42,000-£44,000 (dependent on experience).
- Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week.
