Our long-standing manufacturing client in Bolton is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. They deliver complex projects across nuclear, oil & gas, defence, marine, industrial, pharmaceutical, architectural and water sectors offering varied and technically challenging work.
Overview:
- Manage all commercial aspects of projects from tender through to final account
- Monitor programmes to identify delays and entitlement to time
- Administer contract changes, ensuring timely notices and agreement with clients and subcontractors
- Manage subcontractor relationships, procurement and accounts in line with procedures
- Support Project Managers to ensure cost, quality and delivery targets are met
- Prepare and submit applications for payment, monitor cash flow and resolve financial issues
- Produce monthly reports including CVRs, cashflow forecasts, WIP and earned value analysis
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and ensure compliance with procedures
- Attend project and commercial meetings and support wider business functions including estimating
Essential Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in a main contracting or project delivery environment
- HND/Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
- Strong commercial management and subcontract procurement experience
- Good knowledge of JCT / NEC / IChemE contracts and Construction Law
- Experience with reporting, cost analysis, applications, claims and final accounts
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
