Our long-standing manufacturing client in Bolton is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. They deliver complex projects across nuclear, oil & gas, defence, marine, industrial, pharmaceutical, architectural and water sectors offering varied and technically challenging work.

Overview:

  • Manage all commercial aspects of projects from tender through to final account
  • Monitor programmes to identify delays and entitlement to time
  • Administer contract changes, ensuring timely notices and agreement with clients and subcontractors
  • Manage subcontractor relationships, procurement and accounts in line with procedures
  • Support Project Managers to ensure cost, quality and delivery targets are met
  • Prepare and submit applications for payment, monitor cash flow and resolve financial issues
  • Produce monthly reports including CVRs, cashflow forecasts, WIP and earned value analysis
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and ensure compliance with procedures
  • Attend project and commercial meetings and support wider business functions including estimating

Essential Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in a main contracting or project delivery environment
  • HND/Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong commercial management and subcontract procurement experience
  • Good knowledge of JCT / NEC / IChemE contracts and Construction Law
  • Experience with reporting, cost analysis, applications, claims and final accounts
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
