Purpose of an Electrical Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Inspector to join our client's team in the Bromley/ South East London area. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in various commercial and industrial settings. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to identify and report on potential hazards and compliance issues.

Key Responsibilities of an Electrical Inspector

  • Conduct comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in commercial and industrial environments.
  • Inspect and test electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, switchgear, and control equipment.
  • Identify and document defects, non-compliances, and potential safety hazards.
  • Provide clear and concise reports detailing the condition of electrical installations, including recommendations for remedial actions.
  • Ensure all inspections are carried out in accordance with relevant standards and regulations, including BS 7671 and IET Wiring Regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to explain findings, answer questions, and provide technical advice.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to maintain and enhance technical skills.

Qualifications/Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical installation work
  • City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) qualification in Inspection and Testing.
  • NVQ Level 3
  • 18th Edition
  • In-depth knowledge of BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations, and other relevant standards and codes.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Valid UK driving licence (or equivalent, depending on location).

Salary/Benefits

  • Our client are offering a salary of £48,000- £50,000 (OTE of £60k)
  • Paid Door to Door
  • Holidays- 30 days including Bank holidays
  • Hours of Work - 45 hours a week.
  • Company vehicle - A suitable company car is provided for business use. A company van and fuel card is supplied. Complete with all power tools, testers and PPE.
  • Pension - The current level of contribution by the company is 3% of salary, with the person contributing 5%. Enrolled on the pension scheme from day one.
  • Healthcare - Following successful completion of the 6 month probationary period the person will be invited to join the company health scheme.
  • Sickness and absence: Paid from day one SSP
