We're looking for a commercially minded Electrical Estimator to join an expanding team, playing a key role in securing exciting commercial and industrial projects across a variety of sectors. The Role
As an Electrical Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive cost estimates for electrical and M&E projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission and project handover. Working closely with internal teams, clients and suppliers, you'll play an integral role in winning new business and ensuring projects are delivered successfully from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and fully itemised cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects
- Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation to identify project scope, risks and opportunities
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure best value
- Produce professional tender submissions, including pricing schedules, clarifications and value engineering proposals
- Liaise with clients, consultants and contractors throughout the tender process
- Support project teams during handover to ensure a smooth transition from tender to delivery
- Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy
- Maintain estimating records, cost databases and supplier information for future opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator within the Building Services or M&E sector
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical installations and building services
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience using estimating software would be advantageous
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline is desirable but not essential
