PURPOSE OF AN ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Inspector to join our client's team in the Bedford area. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in various commercial and industrial settings. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, adherence to safety regulations, and the ability to identify and report on potential hazards and compliance issues.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR
- Conduct comprehensive Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in commercial and industrial environments.
- Inspect and test electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, switchgear, and control equipment.
- Identify and document defects, non-compliances, and potential safety hazards.
- Provide clear and concise reports detailing the condition of electrical installations, including recommendations for remedial actions.
- Ensure all inspections are carried out in accordance with relevant standards and regulations, including BS 7671 and IET Wiring Regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, legislation, and best practices.
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain findings, answer questions, and provide technical advice.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to maintain and enhance technical skills.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical installation work
- City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) qualification in Inspection and Testing.
- NVQ Level 3
- 18th Edition
- In-depth knowledge of BS 7671, IET Wiring Regulations, and other relevant standards and codes.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings.
- Valid UK driving licence (or equivalent, depending on location).
SALARY/BENEFITS
Our client are offering a salary of Β£48,000- Β£50,000 (OTE of Β£60k). Paid Door to Door. Holidays- 30 days including Bank holidays. Hours of Work - 45 hours a week. Company vehicle - A suitable company car is provided for business use. A company van and fuel card is supplied, complete with all power tools, testers and PPE. Pension - The current level of contribution by the company is 3% of salary, with the person contributing 5%. Enrolled on the pension scheme from day one. Healthcare - Following successful completion of the 6 month probationary period the person will be invited to join the company health scheme. Sickness and absence: Paid from day one SSP.
