Multi Skilled Air Conditioning & Commercial Gas Engineer
to join their North West team. JOB PURPOSE
To provide high level technical service, maintenance, fault finding and repair across commercial air conditioning, HVAC and commercial gas systems throughout the North West. This is a mobile, field based role primarily focused on
planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs and advanced fault diagnosis
across retail, distribution, university and commercial facilities. The successful engineer will be a strong diagnostic specialist, capable of systematically tracing, isolating and resolving complex
thermal, mechanical, electrical and combustion related faults
across commercial HVAC and gas plant. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out routine PPM, servicing, reactive maintenance and emergency repairs on commercial air conditioning, ventilation and commercial gas equipment.
Perform advanced technical diagnostics on
VRV/VRF systems, split systems, AHUs, chillers, commercial boilers and associated heating plant .
Use diagnostic software, digital pressure manifolds, electrical multimeters and combustion analysers to accurately identify root causes of equipment failure.
Troubleshoot integrated
BMS controls, panel wiring, sensor calibration and motorised valves
associated with HVAC and gas plant.
Complete gas safety checks and combustion analysis.
Issue relevant
CP12 and gas compliance certification
where qualified and required.
Participate in the regional
24/7 emergency call out rota on a 1 in 4 basis .
Ensure strict compliance with
F Gas regulations, Gas Safe standards and Health & Safety requirements .
Provide high level technical feedback and accurate job reporting using digital handheld PDA devices.
Maintain professional relationships with customers and provide clear technical advice.
Identify additional remedial works and report findings appropriately.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
City & Guilds 2079 / F Gas Category 1
- Refrigerant Handling.
Relevant
Commercial Gas / Gas Safe qualifications , including COCN1 or CODNCO1, CORT1, CIGA1, CDGA1 and TPCP1/1A as applicable.
NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, or equivalent time served apprenticeship.
Minimum
4+ years' post qualification experience
in commercial field service engineering.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex faults across both
air conditioning and commercial gas systems .
Strong electrical fault finding skills, including the ability to read electrical schematics and test control boards, contactors and inverter drives.
Experience working with
VRV/VRF, split systems, AHUs, chillers and commercial boilers .
Experience within commercial retail, leisure, distribution, university or corporate environments.
Excellent customer facing and communication skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Current CSCS card or relevant safety passport.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
Domestic Gas qualifications, including
CCN1 and CENWAT .
Knowledge of commercial refrigeration plant, including
CO2 and fluorinated refrigerant systems .
Manufacturer specific training or experience with systems from manufacturers such as
Daikin, Mitsubishi, Trend, Trane and Worcester/Bosch .
