The predicted salary is between 66582 - 80000 £ per year.

This role can be based at any of our office locations: London, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, York, Glasgow.

At ORR we have adopted hybrid working and are currently expected to work from a workplace location for a minimum of two days per week or 40%.

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) is the independent economic and safety regulator for Britain’s railways and monitor of performance on England’s strategic road network.

Planning and Performance holds Network Rail to account for its performance and its stewardship of the national railway network infrastructure.

The team of Power, Signalling and Telecommunication Systems comprises discipline engineering experts for Electrical Power, Telecoms and Railway Signalling.

We support our Operations, Economic and Safety colleagues to ensure a safe, sustainable and reliable railway.

Reporting to the Principal, Electrification and Power engineer, the role is primarily dealing with holding infrastructure managers (IM’s) such as Network Rail and High Speed 1 to account for the asset management of Electrical & Power systems.

The role provides opportunities to work with the industry to help shape the progression of Electrical & Power systems to a more sustainable future and a reliable railway.

The job holder will be working with other ORR departments to provide subject matter opinion during investigations and Funding periodic reviews and be a key part of the Infrastructure Authorisation process.
