At the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), we're looking for an experienced Export Control Manager to lead and oversee our export control framework, ensuring compliance with UK and international legislation governing the transfer of nuclear-related information and technology.

The role

Reporting to the Head of International Strategy and Public Correspondence, you'll act as ONR's export control subject matter expert, managing our export licence portfolio and advising colleagues across the organisation on export control requirements, classification, licensing and compliance. You’ll build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government departments and external partners, while driving robust governance, systems and processes that embed best practice and ensure ongoing compliance. You’ll also maintain up-to-date guidance and training, helping ONR respond proactively to changes in legislation and policy.

About you

  • Expert knowledge of UK and international export control legislation, including Nuclear Suppliers Group Trigger Lists and export licensing requirements.
  • Extensive experience of ensuring organisational compliance in the transfer of export-controlled nuclear-related information and technology.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence, advise and build trusted relationships across complex organisations.
  • Proven leadership capability, excellent communication skills and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Experience of international export control regimes, including US Part 810.
