Location: The locations for this role are Newport and Titchfield (Fareham). We operate a flexible hybrid working model across the UK, with colleagues linked to one of our contractual locations and working between office and remote throughout the week. As part of the hybrid working arrangement there is a 40% minimum office attendance requirement.

This role will focus on building capability within the Operational Delivery Profession (ODP) and will sit in The ODP Hub. The Operational Delivery Profession is the largest profession in the Civil Service and within the Office for National Statistics (ONS), and the ODP hub is a dedicated team focused on investing in our operational people, capability, and skills. This team collaborates across the organisation and government to create, deliver, and embed ODP products and services.
You will work as part of a small team in the ODP hub, leading key change initiatives across the organisation in partnership with various other departmental areas. The role will deliver with a Departmental lens against the Professions’ Strategic Pillars (including, but not limited to):
- Developing Future Skills
- Embedding and evolving the standards for the ODP Professional Skills Framework
- Enhancing the ODP Learning Curriculum with a Departmental Role specific lens
- Expanding Development Opportunities across all grades including (but not limited to):
- Creating and enhancing Development Pathways as an organisational priority
- Departmental focus on Field Communities and Business Surveys
- Pathways to support investment in Surveys capability
- Building a stronger Talent Pipeline through Apprenticeships
- Leveraging AI and Digital Transformation for Operational Delivery Roles
