Salary: £18 - £23 per hour

Contract: Temporary role 3-6 months via Office Angels

Hours: 37 per week, office based, all year round.

We're looking for a friendly and experienced Finance Manager to join an organisation in West Kent. Working closely with the CFO, you'll help make sure everything runs smoothly from a financial perspective - from keeping reporting accurate and up to date, to making sure they are compliant and getting the best value for money. Most importantly, your work will help support the wider goal of delivering great education.

What you'll be doing:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts and key reports
  • Supporting with the annual budget and keeping it updated throughout the year
  • Making sure all financial processes meet the requirements of the Academy Trust Handbook and other regulations
  • Working with auditors on year-end accounts and helping ensure a smooth audit process
  • Keeping a close eye on financial controls and reducing risk
  • Overseeing payroll to ensure everything is accurate and submitted on time
  • Managing contracts to ensure good value for money
  • Supporting long-term financial planning and highlighting potential risks or opportunities

You’ll also work closely with school and Trust teams, helping them understand finances and stay on track with budgets.

Additional areas you'll support:

  • Identifying opportunities to bring in additional income and supporting funding bids
  • Helping maximise income from lettings and other activities
  • Supporting staff with finance-related training and guidance
  • Attending leadership or trustee meetings when needed

About you:

  • Experienced in finance – education or multi-site experience is a bonus
  • Ideally qualified or part-qualified
  • Detail-focused but also able to see the bigger picture
  • Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and explaining financial information clearly
  • Proactive, organised, and happy to roll up their sleeves
  • Happy to complete a DBS check upon successful appointment
