The Opportunity

A well-established and growing boutique accountancy practice is seeking a

Qualified Accountant to join its friendly and collaborative team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accounting professional looking to work with a diverse portfolio of clients in a supportive environment that offers genuine flexibility through hybrid working.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing client relationships, delivering high-quality accounting and advisory services, and supporting the continued growth of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for a varied client portfolio.
  • Managing the preparation and submission of corporation tax, personal tax, and VAT returns.
  • Providing clients with accounting, business, and tax advice.
  • Supporting clients with management accounts, cash flow forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing mentorship where required.
  • Assisting with business development opportunities and identifying value-added services for clients.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting partners with ad hoc projects and client assignments.

Requirements

Essential

  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent accounting qualification.
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and taxation.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books, Sage, or similar.

Desirable

  • Experience working with owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
  • Exposure to advisory and consultancy services.
  • Previous experience reviewing junior staff work.
