Junior Accounts Assistant | Permanent | £25,000 - £30,000 + Study Support

Our client, an internationally recognised security company, is looking for a Junior Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and supportive finance team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation.
  • Code invoices to the correct nominal accounts and cost centres.
  • Support the Accounts Payable function by monitoring invoice approvals and resolving supplier queries.
  • Process employee expense claims.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Assist with payment runs and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support month-end processes where required.
  • Maintain organised electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve finance-related queries.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within finance, accounts or an administrative environment is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for pursuing a long-term career in accounting.
  • Studying towards, or looking to begin, an AAT qualification or similar accounting qualification is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical ability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
