Location: Woking, Surrey

Salary: £21,250 - £23,884 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 36 Hours Per Week, Term Time Plus 5 Inset Days (39 Weeks Per Year)

Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 4:15pm, Friday 8:45am - 4:15pm

Start Date: ASAP

Essential Requirement: Applicants must hold a valid Enhanced DBS Certificate with Children's Barred List Check.

About the Role

We are seeking an organised, professional and proactive School Administrator / Receptionist to join a busy educational environment in Woking. This is a varied role where you will be the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors whilst providing efficient administrative support across the organisation. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office and delivering an excellent reception service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional and welcoming front-of-house reception service.
  • Handle enquiries via telephone, email and face-to-face.
  • Provide general administrative support, including document preparation, filing and record keeping.
  • Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office, Outlook, SIMS and other management information systems.
  • Assist with the organisation of events, examinations, projects and functions.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, reports and purchase orders.
  • Provide printing, photocopying, finishing and collation of documents.
  • Ensure information and documentation is processed efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
  • Assist with displays, notices and promotional materials when required.
  • Respond promptly to communication requests and general enquiries.
  • Support safeguarding procedures and provide first aid assistance where required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous administration or receptionist experience within a busy environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience maintaining records and using IT systems.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook.
  • Experience using SIMS or similar management information systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Professional approach with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a school or educational environment.
  • Experience supporting students within an administrative setting.
  • First Aid qualification.
