The purpose of the role is to support the legal team in all aspects of plot conveyancing work, assisting with legal documentation, post-completion processes, and general legal office duties, while gaining experience and contributing to the smooth operation of the team within this temporary opportunity.
Duties:
- Assist with plot reservations, engrossments, filing, exchanges, title checks and completions to ensure smooth and timely property transactions.
- Support Conveyancers with their caseloads.
- Handle standard conveyancing matters under supervision to develop legal expertise and contribute to case progress.
- Manage post-completion tasks such as stamp duty returns and Land Registration to finalise transactions and ensure legal compliance.
- Assist with lease/transfer variations and reversion sales to facilitate accurate and lawful property modifications.
- Support the recovery of retentions (non-litigious) to secure outstanding funds and close financial matters.
- Carry out Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks in accordance with legal requirements to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate risk.
- Respond to requests for certificates of compliance and enquiries from owners on historic sites to provide accurate information and maintain good client relations.
- Use the Company's case management system to carry out legal tasks and maintain records to ensure efficient workflow and accurate documentation.
Requirements:
- Experience in an administrative role (it is desirable that this is in a legal support role, preferably within conveyancing or property law but this is not mandatory).
- Availability for immediate start is ideal.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and support multiple team members.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage routine legal processes.
- Familiarity with legal case management systems is desirable.
