Are you a highly organised and motivated administrator eager to make a difference in education? We are currently recruiting for a School Administrator to join a friendly and fast-paced school in Whitley Bay on an ongoing temporary basis.

In this varied role, you'll provide vital administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the school, acting as a key point of contact for pupils, parents, staff, and visitors while delivering a professional and welcoming experience.

Position Details

  • Location: Whitley Bay
  • Contract Type: Temporary Ongoing, term time only.
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Pay Rate: Β£14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Flexible full-time or part-time opportunities available.
  • Part-time: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 1:00pm
  • Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

An Enhanced DBS certificate is essential for this role and must either be current on the DBS Update Service or candidates must be willing to undergo a new Enhanced DBS check prior to commencement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing a professional and friendly reception service, welcoming visitors and managing sign-in procedures.
  • Handling incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries, ensuring they are dealt with promptly and efficiently.
  • Supporting the wider school team with a range of administrative tasks and office duties.
  • Maintaining accurate pupil, staff, and school records using internal systems and databases.
  • Utilising Arbor confidently to update information, manage records, and support school administration processes.
  • Assisting with correspondence, filing, data entry, and document preparation.
  • Coordinating a variety of administrative activities while effectively prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines.
  • Ensuring confidentiality is maintained when handling sensitive information.
  • Delivering a high standard of customer service to students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience using Arbor is essential
  • Previous administration experience, ideally within a school or educational setting.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • A professional, flexible, and positive approach to work.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is highly desirable.
