Our client, a reputable healthcare organisation, is seeking a dedicated Temporary Medical Secretary to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented and passionate about providing high-quality service in a medical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently book patients for the London-based site and other private practice locations.
- Respond promptly to all correspondence via email, post, and telephone calls.
- Type and format medical letters, ensuring accuracy and professionalism.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure optimal service delivery.
- Complete referrals and diagnostic requests with precision.
- Liaise with consultants and clinicians to foster a positive service culture and enhance clinician satisfaction.
- Develop strong communication with patients to promote a welcoming environment and high levels of patient satisfaction.
- Conduct ad hoc audits on patient satisfaction measures.
- Manage clinic diaries, ensuring appointments run smoothly and on time.
- Create invoices and collect payments on the day of appointments.
- Liaise with insurance companies and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Participate in a rota system to cover extended clinic hours, from 8 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday, as well as Saturdays.
- Oversee credit control for self-pay patients.
- Attend weekly team meetings to discuss ongoing projects and improvements.
- Order supplies and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Perform health and safety and fire risk checks as directed by compliance.
- Ensure that facilities are clean, tidy, and ready for patient reception.
- Maintain a tidy reception desk and area, adhering to a 'clear desk' policy.
- Greet patients and caregivers, providing a welcoming atmosphere and a positive first impression.
- Ensure the smooth operation of the reception area and consulting rooms.
- Confidently manage busy patient areas and ensure a professional atmosphere.
- Discuss services and products with patients and consultants as needed.
