Purchasing Administrator - Immediate Start
Location: Gatwick
Salary: Β£15 per hour
Job Type: Monday to Friday 08:30 - 5pm full time on site.
The Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an organised and proactive Purchasing Administrator to join our client's busy purchasing team and support the smooth procurement of goods, materials, and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Raise and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain purchasing records, supplier information, and pricing databases.
- Monitor purchase orders and follow up with suppliers regarding deliveries and lead times.
- Resolve invoice queries and order discrepancies with suppliers and internal departments.
- Assist with stock monitoring and inventory management activities.
- Obtain supplier quotations and support purchasing decisions.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare purchasing reports and management information as required.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing procedures and policies.
- Provide general administrative support to the Purchasing Team.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in an administrative, purchasing, procurement, buying, or supply chain role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong numerical skills and a high level of data-entry accuracy.
Desirable
- Experience using purchasing, ERP, or stock management systems.
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, logistics, or distribution environment.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive. You will enjoy working as part of a team, have a strong customer-service mindset, and take pride in delivering accurate and efficient administrative support to the purchasing function. You will be confident communicating with suppliers and colleagues and able to work effectively in a busy environment.
