Temporary Finance Administrator

Location: Edinburgh City Centre

Duration: 1 month with potential to be extended

Start Date: Immediate

Working Pattern: Flexible hybrid working pattern of 3 to 5 days per week

Our respected client is seeking an experienced Finance Administrator to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with high volumes of financial data whilst maintaining exceptional levels of accuracy.

The Opportunity

Supporting a busy finance function, you will play a key role in ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and reconciliations are completed efficiently across multiple entities and currencies. This position would suit someone who enjoys transactional finance, problem-solving and working with large data sets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing high volumes of financial transactions across multiple entities and currencies
  • Performing daily and month end bank reconciliations
  • Reconciling sales and payment data against bank receipts
  • Investigating and resolving unmatched transactions and discrepancies
  • Processing supplier invoices, including coding, matching and query resolution
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the wider finance team
  • Utilising Excel extensively to analyse, match and reconcile large data sets
  • Escalating issues where appropriate and supporting process improvements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience within a high-volume transactional finance environment
  • Strong bank reconciliation experience across multiple entities and currencies
  • Experience using a cloud-based accounting system (such as Xero or a similar platform)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including lookups and handling large datasets
  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
