Are you an organised and proactive Transport Coordinator looking for your next challenge? We are recruiting for an experienced Transport Coordinator to join a busy operations team based in Crayford. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring a fleet of 15 vehicles operates efficiently, delivering excellent service to customers across London and the South East.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating daily vehicle movements, ensuring deliveries and collections are completed safely, efficiently and on time. You'll be the main point of contact for drivers, providing support throughout the day and resolving any operational issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule daily deliveries and collections.
- Monitor vehicle movements and driver progress in real time.
- Act as the primary point of contact for drivers throughout the day.
- Respond quickly to delays, breakdowns, route changes and customer requests.
- Ensure routes are compliant with driver hours and transport legislation.
- Maintain accurate transport records and delivery documentation.
- Assist with vehicle compliance, maintenance scheduling, MOT records and tachograph data.
- Analyse transport data and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
- Liaise closely with warehouse, operations and management teams to ensure smooth communication and service delivery.
- Support a culture of excellent customer service across the transport function.
About You
- Previous experience in transport planning, routing or fleet coordination.
- Strong geographical knowledge of London and the South East.
- Understanding of driver hours regulations and transport compliance requirements.
- Experience using route planning and vehicle tracking systems.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confident communicator who can build strong relationships with drivers and internal teams.
- Able to remain calm and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and willing to provide occasional out-of-hours support on a rota basis.
