Payroll Administrator Location: EC3V, London Salary: £35,000 per annum Contract: Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm Working Pattern: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office) Overview We are seeking an experienced and proactive Payroll Administrator to join a busy and fast-paced team. This role combines payroll administration with wider HR and administrative support responsibilities, making it ideal for an individual who enjoys a varied workload and thrives in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will have a strong payroll background, advanced Excel skills, and experience supporting high-volume payroll operations. Candidates with experience within a retail or large-scale payroll environment are particularly encouraged to apply, as the role requires exceptional accuracy, organisation, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Key Responsibilities Support the end-to-end payroll process for a large UK workforce. Process payroll administration activities, including starters, leavers, contractual changes, and employee amendments. Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Provide administrative support across payroll and HR functions. Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders. Produce, analyse, and maintain payroll reports using Excel. Support and collaborate with offshore payroll teams to ensure smooth payroll operations. Assist with payroll audits, reporting requirements, and continuous improvement projects. Maintain employee records and associated documentation. Provide general administrative support as required. Essential Requirements A minimum of 2 years' payroll administration experience. Proven experience working within a high-volume payroll environment. Previous experience supporting or working alongside offshore payroll operations. Advanced Excel skills, including working with formulas, lookups, reporting, and large datasets. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Excellent organisational and administrative skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Flexible, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience using MHR iTrent payroll and HR systems is advantageous. Experience with similar integrated payroll systems such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, ResourceLink, or ADP will also be considered.
