Are you an experienced Finance Officer looking for a rewarding opportunity within a purpose driven international charity? Our client is seeking a proactive and self-motivated Finance Officer to join their busy finance team during an exciting period of transition. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day financial operations across a multi-currency environment.
Contract Details
- Duration: Initially 6 weeks, with potential to extend through to Christmas and potentially go permanent
- Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Location: Remote, with occasional visits to the London office near London Bridge
- Pay Rate: £16 to £20 per hour (dependent on experience)
- Equipment: Candidates must provide their own laptop
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the purchase ledger and processing supplier invoices
- Preparing UK and international payments
- Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting month-end processes, journals, accruals and prepayments
- Assisting with VAT returns and audit preparation
- Reconciling donation income and maintaining accurate financial records
- Providing financial support and guidance to colleagues across the organisation
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Payable or similar finance role
- Strong reconciliation and purchase ledger experience
- Confident working with Excel, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
- Experience working within financial controls and maintaining audit trails
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
- Charity sector experience would be highly desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is advantageous
