Job Description Senior Finance Assistant Β£35,000 - Β£40,000 per annum Chelmsford, Essex Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm *Must drive and have access to a vehicle due to the location of the business Are you an experienced finance professional looking for a broad and rewarding role where you can make a real impact? My client is seeking a proactive and detail driven Senior Finance Assistant to join their finance team and support the day-to-day running of a fast paced, multi-entity business. Manage intercompany transactions, including invoicing, recharges, reconciliations, and the resolution of any discrepancies. Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts and currencies. Support the month-end close process and assist in the production of management accounts. Maintain and reconcile sales, purchase, and nominal ledgers, ensuring data integrity at all times. Reconcile balance sheet control accounts and maintain supporting documentation and schedules. Assist with audit requests and ensure ongoing compliance with financial and statutory obligations. Provide support to the wider finance team, acting as a senior point of contact for finance-related queries and guidance. Essential Experience & Skills Previous experience in a Senior Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant, or similar accounting role. Strong technical knowledge of VAT returns, intercompany accounting, accruals, and prepayments. Extensive experience with bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations. Demonstrable experience maintaining accurate financial records, ledgers, and controls. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. AAT qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience. ACCA or CIMA studies would be advantageous but are not essential.
