We are looking for an experienced Renewable Energy Electrician to join our growing renewables team, specialising in bespoke energy storage systems. This role is split between workshop-based system builds and on-site installation and commissioning. You’ll be involved from the physical build of bespoke battery and inverter systems, through to installing and maintaining solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging infrastructure at customer sites. Alongside bespoke systems, a large part of the role involves installing all-in-one solar and battery platforms (such as Sigenergy) and electric vehicle charge points in residential and commercial settings. This is not repetitive “one-size-fits-all” work - it’s a varied role suited to an electrician who enjoys problem-solving and working with advanced energy systems.
What You’ll Be Working On
- Bespoke Energy Storage Systems
- Workshop-based build of bespoke Victron energy storage systems
- Assembly, wiring, testing, and quality control of battery and inverter systems
- On-site installation, integration, and commissioning
- Maintenance, fault finding, and system upgrades
- Solar PV & All-in-One Battery Systems
- Installation of Solar PV systems (domestic & commercial)
- Installation and commissioning of all-in-one systems such as Sigenergy
- AC/DC cabling, inverter installation, protection, and commissioning
- System testing and client handover
- EV Charging
- Installation and commissioning of EV charge points
- Integration with solar and battery systems where required
- Load management and compliance with current regulations
- Routine maintenance and servicing of installed systems
- Fault diagnosis and repair on PV, battery, and EV charging systems
- Supporting customers post-installation and during upgrades
Key Responsibilities
- Build, install, test, and commission renewable energy systems
- Work between workshop and site as required by projects
- Ensure all systems meet current UK regulations and manufacturer requirements
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and safety
- Complete electrical certification and commissioning documentation
- Work closely with designers, project managers, and other engineers
Requirements
- Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 / AM2 or equivalent)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Experience installing Solar PV and/or battery storage systems
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience with bespoke energy storage systems (Victron or similar)
- Experience installing Sigenergy or other all-in-one battery systems
- Experience with off-grid or backup power systems
