We're partnering with a fast-growing, founder-led IT company to hire their first dedicated Business Development Manager. The business delivers managed services, infrastructure and migration projects, and IT consultancy across Windows and macOS estates, working with clients in finance, non-profit, government and technology.
This is a hybrid BD + sales role: shaping the go-to-market approach, opening new doors, and taking deals through to close, working closely with the founders and engineering team.
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 base salary depending on experience, plus performance-based commission, OTE c.£Structured commission plan covering new business and quarterly development milestones.
Opportunity: Build the BD function from the ground up and have a visible impact on growth. Exposure to both private sector and public sector opportunities.
The BDM Role:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK, spanning managed services, projects and consultancy.
- Build and manage a target account list across private and public sector.
- Sell across the full service portfolio, from recurring support contracts to one-off infrastructure and migration projects and consultancy engagements.
- Qualify and progress inbound and referral leads through the sales cycle.
Requirements:
- Experience working in IT services, an MSP, or a closely related technology or infrastructure business is essential.
- 3 to 5 years in a business development or sales role, comfortable selling a mix of recurring services, projects and consultancy rather than pure hardware resale.
- Comfortable owning the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close.
- Able to talk credibly with technical stakeholders and translate requirements into commercial solutions.
- Self-starter who enjoys working in a small, growing team, willing to be flexible and hands-on.
