We are seeking an experienced Head Chef for a leading private education site in East Sussex. You will lead a kitchen team of 17 chefs, catering for approximately 300 meals daily. Experience in large-scale sites is essential.
The Head Chef will oversee all food services for the restaurant, cafe, and events. Good organizational skills are required, as you will manage multiple responsibilities. You will provide breakfast, lunch, and supper for students and boarders.
The role involves working five days a week, with around one-third of weekends required. Hours are generally daytime, with evenings only for events. This is a 40-hour contract, with overtime compensated as lieu time.
We are looking for a head chef passionate about sustainability and cooking with fresh, healthy produce. Knowledge of plant-based and vegan options is desirable. You will collaborate with students to develop menus.
This role offers a good work/life balance, supported by an Executive Chef and three Sous Chefs. The team has been on site for 2-3 years, providing stability and support.
