We are seeking a dynamic and driven Bar Manager to lead operations within a high-volume, fast-paced live events venue in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, hands-on leader with a strong presence and a passion for nightlife and hospitality. You will take ownership of the bar operation, managing and developing a large team while ensuring smooth delivery across a busy and varied events calendar.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team of 15-20 staff per shift (up to 50 overall)
- Plan and manage staff rotas to ensure effective coverage
- Maintain outstanding service standards in high-pressure environments
- Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of bar operations
- Stock & Financial Management
- Carry out regular stock takes and maintain strict stock control
- Manage supplier relationships and place orders efficiently
- Monitor and drive GP performance
- Support menu development and product offering
- Event Delivery
- Oversee event set-up and ensure readiness ahead of opening
- Brief teams and allocate roles for each event
- Liaise with production teams, tour managers and external stakeholders
- Manage bar service throughout events, resolving customer queries professionally
- Ensure green rooms and rider requirements are delivered
- Work alongside security teams to manage ingress and egress
- Respond effectively to incidents, ensuring safety and compliance at all times

- A confident and engaging leader with strong interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with excellent time management
- Comfortable working under pressure and making quick, informed decisions
- Commercially aware, with a solid understanding of GP and cost control
- Proactive, hands-on and solution-focused
- Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced events environment
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in bar management
- Background in high-volume nightlife, entertainment or events venues
- Strong communication and IT skills
- Experience working with suppliers is advantageous
- Knowledge of GP and cost management is beneficial
Working Hours
- 40 hours per week across a flexible rota
- Mixture of daytime, evening and late-night shifts
- Weekend availability is essential due to event schedules
