The Peer Representative placement is an up-to 9 month long opportunity for a ‘hands on’ experience of working with young people in a variety of ways through OTR’s existing projects as well as developing initiatives/ideas of your own. This could include:

  • Working face-to-face with young people (e.g. through our drop‑in Hubs in Bristol and Yate)
  • Staffing the enquiry line/answering emails
  • Liaising with parents and professionals
  • Co‑facilitating groups
  • Developing new projects and website resources

In North Somerset, this role could include:

  • Working face‑to‑face with young people in our Portishead and Worle drop‑in Hubs
  • Co‑facilitating online and face‑to‑face groups in schools and community settings
  • Developing new resources
  • Supporting and promoting OTR at community events

Peer Representatives can use their voice, influence the development, direction and delivery of services, build on their strengths and have an opportunity to lead in a chosen area of work to help create positive change for young people on both individual and structural levels.
