Recruitment Officer (Volunteer Mentor Recruitment Officer)

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a professional volunteer with at least 3 years’ experience in recruitment, volunteer management, HR, or marketing. The ideal candidate will be confident in applying their expertise to grow and maintain a high‑quality mentor network.

Key qualities and experience include

  • Excellent multi‑channel communication skills and ability to build networks across organisations, universities, and professional groups.
  • Experience in recruitment, including interviewing, shortlisting, onboarding, and volunteer engagement.
  • Strong social media skills to support outreach campaigns and create engaging recruitment content.
  • Independent and collaborative working skills, able to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with different teams.

What will you be doing?

  • Design and implement strategic outreach campaigns to recruit new mentors, including leveraging social media, professional networks, university job boards, and volunteering platforms.
  • Collaborate with Communications and Marketing leads to create engaging recruitment content (digital flyers, social posts, newsletters) that communicates OTC’s mission and impact.
  • Screen, shortlist, and interview candidates, assessing suitability, motivation, and alignment with programme values.
  • Maintain accurate records of applicants and recruitment metrics using CRM tools or spreadsheets.
  • Build relationships with partner organisations, businesses, and universities to expand long‑term mentor pipelines.
  • Ensure all recruitment activities uphold OTC’s safeguarding, inclusion, and equity standards.
