Core Purpose
Ensure the successful execution of subsea energy projects and tenders by applying engineering expertise, with a focus on safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Review assigned technical project documentation during the tender phase and support the Tendering function throughout the tender process.
- Review assigned technical project documentation at contract award, identifying changes, discrepancies from pre-award documents, and deficiencies in tender method statements.
- Prepare and deliver project kick-off meetings.
- Ensure clear understanding of project deliverables, including customer requirements and timelines.
- Capture and document engineering lessons learned, including technical notes and feedback.
- Provide balanced technical feedback, highlighting both positive outcomes and areas for improvement.
- Interface with the document control function to manage MDR’s, action tracking, and scheduling.
- Coordinate the preparation of procurement, fabrication, and installation documentation, including scopes of work, procedures, drawings, and sketches.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on offshore construction techniques and methods during third-party reviews and risk assessments.
- Ensure that all items designed, manufactured, assembled, and commissioned are fit for purpose.
- Manage all interfaces related to assigned tasks, including with clients, subcontractors, internal teams, and vessels.
- Prepare and deliver project briefings to all project personnel, including vessel crew.
- Ensure offshore personnel fully understand all relevant project documentation and requirements, including safety and quality-related witness points.
- Ensure offshore construction and inspection activities are technically accurate and compliant with contract requirements, including witness and hold points.
- Review deck plans and all lift plans associated with project activities.
- Act as a focal point for resolving technical queries and issues during offshore construction and inspection activities, coordinating with onshore support as required.
- Accountable to the Project Manager and Offshore Project Manager for all engineering aspects of offshore operations.
- Manage the offshore construction schedule, liaising with the Offshore Project Manager and Client Representatives to plan work scope execution, address schedule changes and impacts, and maintain the “as-built” documentation.
- Ensure all project engineering activities comply with BMS processes and procedures.
- Review Daily Progress Reports prior to issue to ensure technical accuracy and completeness.
- Serve as a focal point for compiling all “as-built” documentation.
Skills and Experience

- Ability to coordinate and consolidate information from internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in design software, including CAD.
- Proficient in IT applications, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe.
- Demonstrates teamwork, adaptability, and a proactive approach to tasks and challenges.
- Working knowledge of subsea and topside installation techniques, equipment, and methods, including rigging and sea fastening, fabrication and construction methods, isolations and barriers, and general subsea installation practices.
- Demonstrates strong self-management skills.
Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Current Topside Medical certification (preferred).
- Offshore Survival and Firefighting certificate (preferred).
