Location: United Kingdom (Hybrid/Offshore).

Core Purpose

Responsible for safe implementation of OEG Renewables policies and procedures at site and shift level on various offshore wind projects predominantly within the UK and possibly worldwide. Assisting the department manager in planning, mobilising, execution, and demobilising of statutory inspection work scopes. Maintaining team performance in line with industry, client, project, and company requirements. Aiding in the design and implementation of engineering solutions for statutory inspection projects. Responsible for small teams with scope for this to change in line with project requirements. Assist in the implementation of company and project policies and procedures acting as the client liaison and taking part in briefing/debriefings on daily offshore progress and planning.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Ensure team members are sufficiently equipped for statutory inspection projects.
  • Management of project tooling and equipment.
  • Management of project consumable stock items such as inspection tags and oils and greases.
  • Auditing of teams PPE and uniform standards.
  • Mentoring junior technicians.
  • Produce daily reporting and inspection checklists.
  • Implementing OEG Renewables and client safe systems of work.

Inspection:

  • Conducting thorough examinations in line with local legislation such as LOLER and PUWER.
  • Fire Extinguisher Inspection.
  • TMSE Inspections.
  • PFPE Inspections.
  • Loose Lifting Equipment Inspections.
  • Inspection of Hydraulic systems (PRV’s and accumulators).
  • Inspection and Load Testing of WTG Nacelle Cranes (hoists and hydraulic cranes such as HIAB).
  • Inspection and Load Testing of Davit Cranes using water weights.
  • Inspection and Load Testing of man riding lifts.

Leadership:

  • Managing current contractors and employee technicians with support from the department manager.
  • Managing company reporting at site level.
  • Supporting project managers in tooling and solution delivery.
  • General purchasing of small items.
  • Support with the creation of PDF documents.
  • Management of project tooling and equipment files.
  • Management of Motion Kinetic and My Compliance systems at site level.

Quality Control:

  • Daily checking of project reports to ensure the correct certification has been created and reports have been completed correctly.
  • Logging of all process nonconformities in MY Compliance.
  • Support with annual document reviews.
  • Take an active role in the continual improvement of OEG Renewables quality system and standards.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Carry out LOLER/PUWER inspections on company equipment.
  • Support with pre and post project equipment inspections noting any deficiencies and damages, use obtained data to conduct root cause and analysis where applicable.

Environmental:

  • Dispose of waste in accordance with waste management procedures.

Skills and Experience

  • Keep up to date with any new or amended processes, procedures and regulatory changes that impact the role and learn information about new products, always following instructions from the company.
  • Ensure all internal communications are read, understood, adhered to, and acknowledged.
  • Attend meetings as directed by the line manager including one to ones, performance reviews and training/coaching.
  • Responsible for security of client and company data as provided and used in the role.
  • Responsible for security of company property as provided and used in the role.
  • Support department initiatives to help achieve departmental annual targets and objectives.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience in similar role.
  • Relevant vocational training such as apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical discipline.
  • LEEA Foundation and further LEEA Diplomas.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise tasks.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good understanding of LOLER/PUWER/PSSR and Fire Safety Regulations.
  • Loose Lifting Equipment Inspection.
  • PFPE Inspection.
  • Good understanding of calibration and requirements.
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations.
  • Full UK clean driving licence.
