We are currently seeking a Statutory Inspection Field Service Manager to join our Topside Division. Location: Hunmanby/Chester/Lowestoft/Portsmouth, United Kingdom (Hybrid).
Core Purpose
Responsible for overseeing the Field Service Supervisors and Statutory Inspection Technicians, ensuring safe and compliant operations, coordinating field activities, and maintaining technical standards.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Supervision and Team Management: Manage the Field Service Supervisors (FSS) and ensure tasks are appropriately assigned. Manage Statutory Inspection Technicians and ensure tasks are appropriately assigned. Monitor work progress and ensure activities meet quality and safety standards, liaising with the technical team. Provide technical and operational guidance to the team to support effective delivery.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety procedures for working at height and statutory inspection activities. Ensure correct use of PPE, including harnesses and fall protection systems. Review risk assessments and deliver toolbox talks prior to commencement of work. Conduct site audits, safety walks, and raise observations where required. Ensure compliance with GWO standards and company safety regulations.
- Statutory Inspection and Repair Oversight: Manage Statutory Inspection and repair activities to ensure work is carried out in accordance with technical specifications and approved repair methodologies. Act as liaison between the engineering team and technicians to develop approved repair methodologies. Coordinate with the technical team to ensure correct execution of all elements of Statutory Inspection works. Confirm correct use and handling of statutory inspection test equipment, COSHH equipment, and tooling. Control a safe and orderly stand‑down from site upon completion or pause of works, including closure of permits, return of resources, confirmation of site condition, and provision of operational feedback and lessons learned to the Project Manager. Maintain operational continuity by receiving and validating handover information and clearly communicating priorities, constraints, and expectations to the field team. Ensure progress, risks, and issues are understood, managed, and escalated where required. Ensure the field team is fully prepared, compliant, and resourced prior to site attendance, including personnel readiness, logistics, equipment, documentation and clear communication of scope, programme, and risks.
- Fleet Management (Where required): Manage daily allocation and utilisation of fleet vehicles to ensure operational readiness and support field project requirements. Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, inspections and servicing to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Monitor fleet performance, mileage and fuel usage to optimise efficiency and minimise downtime. Coordinate with Project Managers and logistics teams to ensure timely deployment and availability of vehicles and equipment for site operations. Maintain accurate fleet records, including maintenance logs, driver assignments and incident reporting. Identify and escalate recurring maintenance issues or operational inefficiencies for resolution and improvement.

- Knowledge of GWO safety standards, working at heights protocols, and offshore industry best practices.
- Ability to manage team performance and maintain discipline around safety and quality standards.
- Coordination with project management, stores & logistics, engineering, and client representatives.
- Ability to manage resources, materials and equipment to maintain productivity, where shortfalls are identified, work to resolve through recruitment and procurement.
- Ability to document site observations, safety findings, and operational issues clearly.
- Understanding of how site productivity, reporting accuracy, and resource utilisation impact project cost, programme delivery and contractual performance.
- Willingness and ability to accompany teams offshore.
