Fleet Marine Engineer

We are currently seeking a Fleet Marine Engineer to join our Marine Division.

Location: OEG Vessels and Remote (United Kingdom and Europe).

Contract: Permanent (21/21 shift rotation).

Core Purpose: OEG Marine Division operates a fleet of windfarm support vessels ranging from 21 – 26m LOA. The Fleet Marine Engineer will be involved in a wide range of activities, including:

• Act as the primary point of contact for the vessels, providing responsive and proactive support to resolve issues efficiently and cost‑effectively.
• Ensure vessels are maintained to a high standard, minimising operational downtime.
• Provide guidance and support to onboard engineers, ensuring full compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Travel across the fleet to carry out maintenance, technical inspections, and repairs as required.
• Undertake onboard periods during quieter times to train and evaluate engineering personnel.
• Arrange the attendance of external contractors, as required, to carry out inspections and certification of OEG vessels.
• Identify and support the planning and coordination of both scheduled and emergency dry dockings for OEG vessels.
• Attend and manage engineering crews, contractors, and shipyards during maintenance periods and dry dockings.
• Ensure accurate records are maintained for all servicing and repair activities.
• Identify requirements, obtain quotations, and order spare or replacement parts for OEG and contracted vessels.
• Identify and implement improvements to vessels and associated operational activities.
• Provide technical expertise and support to vessel engineers as required.
• Maintain and ensure effective use of asset management and planned maintenance systems.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all repairs and works carried out, ensuring vessels do the same.
• Required to travel within the UK and Europe as part of the shift pattern.
• Ensure critical and non‑critical spare parts and tooling are identified, procured, correctly stored, and accurately logged.
• Sail as Engineer on any OEG vessel to provide emergency cover when required, following completion of AEC 1 and 2 certificates.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a multi‑skilled engineer with Marine, Agricultural, HGV, or Heavy Plant disciplines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills with a logical and structured approach to problem‑solving.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Adaptable approach with the ability to respond to changing priorities.

Qualifications:

• Full UK driving licence, valid passport, and right to work in the UK required.
• UK residency essential.
• Approved Engine Course (AEC) Part 1 85 miles, workboats > 150 miles.
• STCW and AEC training & certification could be provided for the right candidate.
